Children’s House

Ages 30 months to 6 years (Preschool through Kindergarten)

Our Children’s House Program nurtures your child’s intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and social development through a beautifully prepared environment, experiential education, and cultivating a safe, respectful climate for independent choice.

Children must be independently toileting to enroll and students who are not ready to be engaged in classroom work for a full day will rest in the afternoon.

  • Up to 25 children per classroom
  • 2 adults, an AMI (Association Montessori Internationale) accredited guide and an assistant, in each classroom
  • 2 programs: half-day (8:30am-12:00pm) and full-day (8:30am-2:30pm), 5 days per week

Expanding Minds.

  • Practical life: children learn care of themselves and the environment while practicing grace and courtesy
  • Sensorial: tactile activities refine children’s five senses
  • Mathematics: hands-on materials help children master mathematical concepts such as numbers, sequence, and operations
  • Language Arts: children acquire basic skills in reading and writing
  • Cultural Activities: geography, history, science, music, and art are introduced

Nurturing Spirits.

  • Mixed age environment, offering opportunities for collaboration and mentorship
  • Montessori Aspect (before/after care) program
  • Atrium (offered spiritual formation)
  • On-campus extracurricular activities

Stewarding the Earth.

  • Direct access to the Children’s House organic garden from each classroom
  • 10 acre campus alive with organic gardens and multiple play structures
  • Classroom environments suffused with natural light
  • Plants and a classroom pet or two to observe and care for

It is through the senses that young children explore the world and a Montessori classroom is an inspirational setting. Guides and assistants nurture each child’s curiosity, fostering their imagination, independence, and humanity.
